6 Realistic Ways To Find Inspiration And Do Your Best Work

--

Wouldn’t it be great if you open your eyes with a smile on your face and approach the coming day with enthusiasm and excitement?

It is understandable that life is not a Disney movie where things are hunky-dory and the Sun is always shining brightly. There are days when you wake up with no energy and vigor. You just want to stay in your blanket with a cup of ice-cream watching your favorite romcom movie and do nothing at all. It’s okay to get into that zone once in a while but it can be problematic if such days are becoming an everyday scenario.

If you are nodding your head in agreement while reading the above lines, then you’re lacking motivation in your life. And, it’s high time that you find inspiration and get moving to succeed in life. ProofHub has made a list of things that can make things easier for you.

“Transform the way you manage your projects. Switch to ProofHub.”

Here are six practical ways that can help you find inspiration and bring your life on track:

  1. Focus on things you love doing

It’s hard to not be motivated to do something that you love doing. Life becomes much easier when you are into a profession where your daily tasks overlap with your hobbies and personal interests.

However, if your job doesn’t align with your interests, then commit doing at least a thing or two that you enjoy on weekends. Don’t think too much and start doing stuff that brings a smile to your face. It could be anything — reading, cooking, sculpting, etc. It will not only boost your happiness levels but will also make way for better work-life balance.

2. Get serious about fitness

Any form of physical activity is known to have a positive effect on both your body and mind. Whether you are a hotshot lawyer or a housewife (or husband), make sure you find some time to exercise for at least 15 minutes or so. Exercising, lifting weights, cycling, dancing, swimming, calisthenics — choose any one that matches with your interest, stick to it, and get ready to experience a miraculous change in your life.

Besides making you healthier and fitter, exercise of any form or nature can make you mentally stronger and encourage you to adopt a disciplined and structured way of living. It not only will make you motivated but will also inspire others around you.

3. Take a break from the mundane

Motivation starts fading away when we become too comfortable and casual with our professional and personal settings. This happens because there’s nothing new or exciting on the table left to do. Try tweaking your routine every now and then to keep the thrill alive.

You don’t necessarily have to change your routine completely, just little changes here and there will suffice. You can either try doing new things on a daily basis or dedicate a single day to give your routine a complete spinoff.

Taking a different route to your office, having a Mocha instead of your usual espresso, and listening to unfamiliar music are a few examples that you can try. Doing unusual things like these has their own beauty and this is what makes our life much more interesting.

4. Write 5 things you’re grateful for every night

Gratitude is an interesting way to keep things in perspective and find inspiration to get going in life. Ever wondered that there are so many people out there who are praying for things that we take very lightly — family, job, vehicle, and even food for that matter?

When you contemplate or write about things you are grateful for, you realize that there is so much to be thankful for. And, this produces a burning desire to make the most of your abilities and lead a happier and successful life. So, before you go to bed, write about five things that you’re genuinely grateful for and see the magic happen.

5. Read and watch inspiring content

Inspiration is contagious. Isn’t it? Whenever you hear a powerful speech or read a motivating text, experiencing a boost in motivation is quite natural. Oftentimes, the lacking inspiration can be refilled by reading inspiring autobiographies, watching interviews, TED talks and learning how the great men and women led their lives despite all odds.

There are many YouTube channels such as TED talks, Motivation Mafia and books like Who Will Cry When You Die, The Alchemist that can help you get inspired and do your best work. There is no dearth of free inspirational and motivational content on internet which is ready to be read and viewed so that you can make your life easier than before.

6. Make friends with folks that lift you up

The people in your life has a direct impact on shaping your personality and the way you conduct yourself. There was a reason why your mom always warned you to stay away from XYZ in school. It’s simple math: If your friends, family members, and colleagues are always unhappy and complaining and, you will unknowingly start emulating such traits and start behaving like them.

As humans, we are a product of the kind of people we are surrounded with. So, one must make conscious choices to surround himself with people who are excited, grateful, and inspired. These are the people who will help you move ahead and become more productive in life.
