ProofHub: Online scheduling software introduces its new calendar
We love using ProofHub internally. So much so that we keep fixing, fine tuning and updating our features to fit into our needs, and of those who bring it to use daily. And one feature we were eyeing on to improvise for long was our very own calendar meant for online scheduling.
Though we liked what we already had in place, the new calendar is something we are in love with. We are excited to unveil the latest version that boasts an improved interface, minimal (but useful) calendar views, events, timezone and milestones. The calendar is clean, fast and shows you tons of useful information at a glance.
We’ve introduced and improvised the following abilities in our calendar:
1. Events: While doing any project, there arise many not so important, urgent or recurring events, which could not be added into projects. In the absence of such an ability, these at times get missed or ignored. To overcome that we’ve introduced events in our new calendar to make it complete online scheduling software.
Events are basically multi-day or recurring activities that are important for a project and its team. These events could be daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Depending upon their nature, they can be extended up to multiple days. To stay updated on their date of happening, you can set reminders for them, to be received within minutes, hours, days or weeks prior to an event.
Once that’s done, that particular event would be shown as a continuous event for those many days in your project calendar. Events could be someone’s birthday, team vacation, leave of an employee, or webinars. They are basically the best way to keep everyone updated on what’s coming up next. While you add an event for a meeting or an appointment, you also have the privilege to set the exact time for that particular event. This makes the usability of events even more precise and better.
Events can be simply dragged to a new date, if there’s a change in its date or schedule. They can also be marked as locked, so that no one can drag them without unlocking. You can also mark events as private to hide from those not subscribed to them. Another great thing about events is the ability to add timezone. Once a timezone is set for an event, the same reflects in all of those subscribed to that event. This makes sure that team members or clients concerned to that event receive notifications as per their individual timezone.
2. Collective or selective projects calendars: With this addition, users can now view a combined as well as an individual calendar, by selecting the project mentioned on the left hand side panel. This is specially going to benefit the managers, who need a project management system with Calendar. This gives them the flexibility to view calendar showing collective projects with different colored events, tasks and milestones based on the color of their project or uncheck any project and view a selective calendar for a specific project/s.
3. Milestones: For all those wondering where has the option to add milestones in all calendar gone, be informed that it is still there, but has just become a lot more easier than ever. You just have to add the primary details of an event and mark it as a milestone. This would automatically convert that event into a milestone and display the same in your project calendar as well. So your milestones stay intact in your project calendar.
We are enjoying using the better looking, working and featured calendar, and hoping so would do. Though we’ve tried to inculcate all that we thought as important and deliver you the best we could, there might be few things we’ve missed. We are all ears to listen to your feedback in the comments below to know how is the new calendar benefiting you and what else can we do to refine it even more in times to come.
